Refurbished Boats
This 1995 Asay 17-foot Surf Boat was the original plug used to create the mold for all other Asay 17s. Made of Marine Plywood, this boat was used twice before being stored in Bob Asay's shop.

This 1994 Van Duyne has been completely gutted and rebuilt using H80 Divinycell. The bottom has been coated with White VC Sport Epoxy for keel protection with a grey non-stick deck, bow sheet and stern sheet surface. New 1" thick starboard oarlocks, as well as Mahogany rails with an additional 1/2" thickness between the oarlocks for added core strength and oarlock stability with fiberglass inner aluminum rail mounts and Coosa transom. Boat weight is 360 lbs.

This 2022 Asay 17-Foot Surf Boat, has only been used a few times during 2023 Virginia Beach Lifeguard Nationals. Made to be a strong work boat, all parts are made with Coosa rather than the normal H80 Divinycell:
This boat is heavy as Asay 17s go, but tracks and rides waves very well. Has outstanding balance and durability. |
